UMBAGOG LAKE is a wilderness area located in Coos County, New Hampshire and Oxford County, Maine. Amongst one of the most pristine lakes in New England, almost all of the over fifty miles of shoreline has been preserved as part of the National Wildlife Refuge.
Loons, bald eagles, moose, deer, wild turkey, osprey, bobcat, rabbit, bear and an amazing amount of birds are abundant in this unspoiled wilderness. Rapid River, flowing into Umbagog, offers some of the best fly-fishing and white water adventure in the Northeast.
Despite these attractions, Umbagog remains an extremely serene and peaceful lake, with breathtaking natural surroundings. The unblemished twenty five thousand acres of wetlands and low hills that surround the lake offer stunning views of the White Mountains and the Mahoosuc Range.
The lake is almost eight thousand acres, running eleven miles across and five miles wide.
Easy boat access is available in Errol, N.H. and Upton, Maine.
AVAILABLE WATERFRONT ESTATE LOTS
Only three of six permitted buildable lots remain, as well as a private island, located on the Maine side of Lake Umbagog at the mouth of Rapid River. Each lot has generous water-frontage, enjoying approximately two acres of space, surrounded by 55,000 acres of parkland.
This extremely rare opportunity is for the discriminating investor who loves nature.
Private waterfront property available on Umbagog is minimal at best. Buildable land is even more incredibly non-existent.
Beautifully designed covenants through Maine's Land Use Planning Cimmission ensure quiet and well thought out conversation development here for generations to come.
